We did a day after New Year's hike to Freemont Saddle which is on the Peralta Trail, which is in the Superstition Mountains, one of the most beautiful places in Arizona. It was about a 1300 feet climb, but it wasn't that challenging. It was a gradual climb.
We started around 7am on such a foggy day. There were not a lot of people there. It was kind of erie and scary. I read that it was a busy trail but we only saw one person on the way up and finally 4 others close to the top. And then on the way down more people then I can count.
On the way up it started to drizzle. I was gonna stop but we continued on. I saw one lady coming down and I asked her was she able to see the view and she said yes, a couple of minutes later 2 young guys told us it was completely foggy. I prayed that we would be able to see some kinda view. We literally were walking in the clouds. My hair was drenched.
But when we got there, there it was. Weavers needle. This was the closest I've ever been to it. Some people climb it. Not I 😄
Check this little boulder out
And then it went away
And then it came back
